Terms of service

The agreement behind the service.

These terms govern your access to and use of MacroThesis — the website, accounts, emails and related services. Please read them before you use the service.

Effective · July 4, 2026

The short version

MacroThesis is an information service, not investment advice. Use it lawfully, don’t scrape or resell it, and remember the market views we report belong to the people who said them.

01

Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and MacroThesis governing your access to and use of the MacroThesis website, applications, emails and related services (together, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Notice. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms on its behalf, and “you” includes that organization.

02

The MacroThesis service

MacroThesis tracks a curated roster of public commentators across their public appearances and organizes what they said — with a verbatim quote, timestamp and link to the original source — by topic and over time. The Service is an editorial and informational product.

The Service reports views expressed by third parties. MacroThesis is not a broker, dealer, investment adviser or financial planner, and nothing in the Service is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any asset. See “No investment advice” below and our Disclaimer.

03

Eligibility and your account

  • The Service is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account.
  • We use passwordless email sign-in. You are responsible for maintaining access to, and the security of, the email address associated with your account.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.
  • Your account is for your own use. You may not share access in a way that circumvents the limits of your plan.
04

Subscriptions, billing and cancellation

MacroThesis offers a free tier and, where made available, paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis — monthly or annual — through our third-party payment provider.

  • Auto-renewal: paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price until you cancel. You authorize us and our payment provider to charge your payment method for each renewal.
  • Cancellation: you may cancel at any time from your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then.
  • Refunds: except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and partial periods are not pro-rated.
  • Price and plan changes: we may change prices and plan features. We will give reasonable advance notice of a price increase affecting your renewal, and the new price applies from your next billing period.
  • Taxes: prices exclude applicable taxes unless stated; you are responsible for any taxes other than taxes on our income.

Free-tier access, and the extent of content available on it, may change over time.

05

Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in line with these Terms. You will not:

  • scrape, crawl, harvest or systematically download content, or use bots or automated means to access the Service, except as we expressly permit;
  • copy, resell, redistribute, sublicense or publicly display substantial portions of the content, or build a competing or derivative dataset from it;
  • reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the source code or underlying data structures, except where the law prohibits that restriction;
  • circumvent access controls, paywalls, rate limits or usage limits, or share paid access outside the terms of your plan;
  • misrepresent the Service’s output, remove attribution, or present reported views as your own or as MacroThesis’s recommendations;
  • interfere with the operation or security of the Service, or use it to infringe others’ rights or to transmit unlawful, harmful or misleading content.

Reasonable personal, non-commercial use — reading, saving and citing individual claims with their source — is permitted and encouraged.

06

Intellectual property and your license

The Service — including its selection and arrangement of claims, editorial metadata, taxonomy, software, design and the MacroThesis name and marks — is owned by MacroThesis or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to access and use the Service for your own research, subject to these Terms.

This license transfers no ownership. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

07

Third-party sources and content

The Service quotes and links to third-party materials, including podcasts, videos, transcripts and the statements of the people we track. Those quotes and statements are the words and property of their respective speakers and rights holders; MacroThesis reports and comments on them with attribution to the original source.

Transcripts, attribution, timestamps and editorial metadata are produced by automated and human processes and may contain errors. The original source controls. Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience and are not endorsements, and we are not responsible for third-party content.

If you are a rights holder and believe content is used improperly, contact us using the details below and we will review it in good faith.

08

Your submissions

You may submit content such as saved items, private notes, correction requests and messages. You are responsible for your submissions and confirm you have the right to provide them.

You grant MacroThesis a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, process and use your submissions to operate, secure and improve the Service and to respond to you. We do not claim ownership of your submissions. Private notes and saved items are handled as described in our Privacy Notice.

09

No investment advice

MacroThesis is for information and research only. Nothing on the Service is investment, financial, legal, tax or accounting advice, an offer or solicitation, or a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security or asset. The views reported are those of third parties and may be inaccurate, incomplete, out of date or contrary to your interests.

You are solely responsible for your own decisions and should consult a licensed professional before acting. Trade ideas, prices, returns and any performance information are illustrative, may be hypothetical, and are not a promise of results. See our Disclaimer for detail. You use the Service at your own risk.

10

Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement and any warranties arising from a course of dealing or usage of trade. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, that content is accurate or complete, or that defects will be corrected.

11

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MacroThesis and its operators, contributors and providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or investment losses, arising out of or relating to the Service, even if advised of the possibility.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the total fees you paid MacroThesis for the Service in the twelve months before the claim.

12

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MacroThesis and its operators, contributors and providers from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your submissions, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

13

Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, if we reasonably believe your use creates risk or legal exposure, or if we discontinue the Service.

On termination, your license ends, and provisions that by their nature should survive — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification and governing law — will survive.

14

Changes to the service and these terms

We are actively developing the Service and may add, change or remove features at any time. Some features described elsewhere on the site are planned and may not yet be available.

We may also update these Terms. If a change is material, we will provide reasonable notice, such as by posting the updated Terms with a new effective date or by email. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms; if you do not agree, stop using the Service.

15

Governing law and disputes

These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or to the Service, are governed by the laws of the country in which MacroThesis is established, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules — except where mandatory law in your country of residence provides otherwise, in particular consumer-protection rules that cannot be excluded by agreement.

Before starting any formal proceedings, you agree to contact us and give us a reasonable opportunity to resolve the dispute informally and in good faith. If it cannot be resolved that way, the dispute will be subject to the competent courts of the place where MacroThesis is established, unless mandatory law entitles you, as a consumer, to bring proceedings in the courts of your own country of residence.

Nothing in these Terms removes or limits any mandatory statutory right you have that cannot be waived by agreement.

16

General terms

These Terms, together with the Privacy Notice and Disclaimer, are the entire agreement between you and MacroThesis about the Service and supersede prior agreements on that subject. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect and that provision will be limited to the minimum extent necessary. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.

You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them to an affiliate or successor. Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, agency or employment relationship between you and MacroThesis.
